thanks,this painting was completed about 15 years ago shortly before i stopped painting to concentrate on graphite art prior to recommencing painting 18 months ago :-)

Great work! Has a real oriental feel to it - serene and uncluttered but realistic. I feel like I want to turn my head to see whatever he's looking at.

thanks very much for the kind words,this painting was completed about 15 years ago and was the last coloured work i had completed until last year wen i took up oils once again:-)

Judging by this painting you should keep painting with oils. You obviously have the talent to work in this medium.

I can't believe this is all traditional! The fine details, especially in the feathers!, are so convincing. I really like how you chose to use a neutral gray for the background. It's not distracting and allows the viewer to focus on the bird.

thankyou very much for the kind words,this painting was the last oil i completed before a 15 year break whilst i concentrated on graphite works,having now returned to oils i'm pleased that this one still 'cuts the mustard'
